We started the day's tour at Schonbrunn Palace, once home of the Hasburgs. It was very like the Palace of Versailles. We looked around the gardens while waiting for the time we had booked to look around the Palace. Unfortunately no photography was allowed inside. It was very sumptuous, in the ornate eighteenth century style.
After that we visited the Hunderwasser Museum cafe (didn't go in the museum) and walked to the nearby Hunderwasser House and Hunderwasser Village (a little shopping mall on 3 levels, designed by the man. Whangarei - this was off the beaten track but very popular with tourists!
The cafe at the Museum
The Hunderwasser House
The Hunderwasser Village (shopping centre with cafes etc)
Finally we went to Karls Kirche, a domed church unlike the churches and cathedrals we have visited lately. Inside there was a lift that took us right up to the dome where there was a viewing platform and stairs even higher. From here we could get a close up view of the frescoes.
