Cologne

The sunniest day since Paris and we spent most of it in the laundrette and on the road.  Our airbnb in Cologne was lovely, would have liked to sit in the garden and chill but our host said it was going to rain tomorrow so we got the tram (from just outside her place) into Cologne.  We wandered around the old town, by the river, then looked around the Cathedral.  We realised we hadn't had anything to drink for hours and it was very hot.  I had on 3 layers because Amsterdam had been cool so we looked for somewhere to get a drink.  Then we saw ice creams with the choice of about fifty flavours so gobbled one down as we looked for a good restaurant.  We found a place where the menu was also in English.  Malcolm got a huge beer and I got a jug of wine, so we soon cooled down and got quite mellow.
