Ottawa valley

Sunrise from the van.  It was hard to leave this spot.
We drove the back roads of the Ottawa Valley, stopping first to admire Eganville before driving to Ontario's highest inhabited spot (which didn't seem that high).

Highest spot...

...and the other way.

In Renfrew we found a funky cafe where you choose your own mug or cup and saucer from the china cabinet for your coffee.

In Arnprior we walked a trail that took in the Ottawa Riverside, a park, an old estate (now a RC retreat) and an area of woodland, one of Ontario's last old-growth forests, full of maple, beech, hemlock etc...

...where we also had a maple and walnut ice-cream.
