We find the sun in Central Otago

When it wasn't raining - or hailing - it was pleasant near Invercargill

It's hard to believe that as we drove through Gore yesterday the outside temperature was 9 degrees!  This afternoon it is 33 in the bus with all the windows open and the fan going!  Good old Central Otago.

We got to the place we are currently freedom camping - Pinders Pond -  yesterday afternoon - the day warmed up as we drove north.  We are parked between the pond (once a big hole in the ground where people looked for gold) and the Clutha River.  There is a cycle trail beside the river and this afternoon we rode to Roxburgh and back.  Only about 5kms each way but we are re-acclimatising to the weather!

This morning we took the car through the tussocky mountains to Lake Onslow which is quite remote.  There were a few empty cribs there but no sign of people.  Just a lake and silence.
