Blue Skies at Bluff

Stewart Island from the Bluff lookout

OK we'll have to go north now!

Monkey Island with the tide out - I'm at the top

...having a lookout from the lookout (its 8.00 pm)

sunset - nearly 10.00pm

Well I have to believe it now - there are blue skies over Southland/Invercargill!!  And quite warm too.
We went to Bluff and looked at Stewart Island - there was a chilly wind blowing - 'from the Arctic' a geographically confused lady in the cafe/gallery at Bluff told us.
back at the bus it was hot as it was out of the wind.  We went to the beach in the evening (low tide) and climbed the hill/island and spent ages watching the strollers and seafood gatherers.  Malcolm headed back to take some sunset shots.
Today it was sunny as we drove through Invercargill and the outside temp was 20 degrees in Gore - better than the 9 they had a few weeks ago when we drove through.  It was 28 in the bus at that point and climbed to 32 as we got into Central Otago.  We are now freedom camped just outside Alexandra (it's been up to 38 in the bus this afternoon so we are not complaining about the cold now!!!)
