The Gold Coast

Today we 'did' the Gold Coast. Not sure why anyone would want to go there unless they were into surfing. First we went to Danger Head at Coolangatta where the border between Queensland and New South Wales is marked by a memorial to Captain Cook. At Burleigh Head we walked a loop through rainforest but it wasn't as beautiful as the forests we've been in lately - also lots of people around. Finally we drove down The Split and looked across to South Stradbroke Island. Well, now we've seen it and we can head somewhere quieter.

The Spit.  Whatever, the weather is fabulous.
