Blenheim

Roadside view south of Blenheim.  The road (SH1) is closed at Ward, a little further south because of the earthquake.

We turned down the Awatere Valley Road towards Molesworth.  It said 'road closed ahead' but we thought we'd see how far we could get.  (About 1 hour)

After turning around we found a picnic spot for lunch then headed back to Blenheim...

...where we spent the afternoon at the Omaka Aviation Centre.  We took in both (WW1 and WW2) of Peter Jackson's exhibitions.

There was a lot to see, lots of planes and scenes like this with 'people' made at the Weta Workshops

This is the poor Red Baron being looted by the Australians who shot him down.  And I always thought it was Snoopy!
