Auckland

Ardmore aerodrome camp ground

Café at Auckland Art Gallery

After leaving Kerikeri we went back to Whangarei to do some errands then finally headed south.  First we went to Ardmore, south of Auckland.  On Sunday we took the train into the city and checked out the Gottfried Lindauer exhibition at the art gallery.  It was very good and well worth the visit.  Last year we went to the place where he lived and painted (Woodville I think) where there is a little Lindauer museum.  The train took almost an hour each way so it was a good day trip when we had walked to the Domain (the long way whoops) and into Newmarket.  It is Monday now and we are in Tauranga.  The weather is not so good so we are waiting for tomorrow  - when better weather is forecast - to go to Mt Manganui.
