Nelson

Rabbit Island, Nelson
Mapua Wharf

We drove to Nelson Friday evening and after 2 attempts to find a suitable freedom parking spot we ended up in the World of Wearable Arts Museum car park.  We wouldn't normally worry about being in a city centre but we do need to get the radiator looked at.  First thing Saturday we went to the garage but it wasn't open.  So we went to the Nelson Market which was just as good as when I've been before, lots of good quality crafts and yummy food and coffee stalls.  We also went to the 'centre of New Zealand' which was underwhelming but quite a good view of the city.

Sunday was hot and sunny.  We visited the World of Wearable Art Museum (since we were right outside it) and it was very good.  Then we drove to Rabbit Island and walked along the beach.  After that we went to Mapua Wharf where we had a nice lunch on the waterfront.  Then we drove along past Ruby Bay to the end of the Kina peninsula, checking out some camping places.

Today the bus is having some tlc on the radiator while we use free wifi at the library and go shopping!
