Paris day 2

Today was cloudy again.  We went to the Arenes de Lutece (Gallo-Roman era amphitheater used for gladiatorial events).  It was re-discovered in the 1860's after being filled in in 1210.

Next we went to the nearby botanical gardens.

Then we wandered along Bassin de l'Arsenal (canal) to the Place de la Bastille.

We then took the metro way north to visit the Marche aux Puces (flea markets).  There are 14 markets over quite a large area but we just looked around two.  Fascinating.
