Castles

A day exploring castles. This is Bamburgh, on the coast north of Newcastle.

We parked by the church in Bamburgh village for a pub lunch.

Then it was on to Holy Island/Lindisfarne, driving over the causeway at low tide.

We explored the castle...

... checked out the harbour where these upturned old boats are used as sheds...

...visited the priory and bought mead.
